Peter Luger Steak House at Caesars Palace: Reviews & Ratings
Peter Luger Steak House Las Vegas delivers an authentic classic steakhouse experience rooted in over 130 years of tradition. Originally founded in Brooklyn in 1887, Peter Luger is known for its exceptional dry aged beef program and signature steak sauce. Our group started with Luger’s famous sizzling thick cut bacon which was perfectly caramelized, smoky, and rich. Seafood starters included an excellent jumbo lump crab cake with minimal filler and a very impressive jumbo shrimp cocktail. The highlight of the evening was a steak for eleven that was dry aged in house and carved tableside. The beef was exceptionally tender with deep aged flavor. The signature steak sauce adds a tangy and slightly sweet complement that enhances the natural flavor of the steak. Sides included German fried potatoes, creamed spinach, sautéed cremini mushrooms, broccoli, and French fried potatoes, all prepared very well and perfect for sharing. Dessert featured chocolate mousse topped with fresh whipped cream along with well prepared cappuccinos. Service was professional, confident, and paced perfectly for a multi course fine dining experience. Highly recommended for steak lovers visiting Las Vegas.
Stopped in for lunch and sat at the bar. Overall a good experience, but not without some clear flaws. The burger is the main attraction and while the patty itself is excellent well seasoned, juicy, and full of flavor the bun completely lets it down. It is far too big and too dense, which throws off the balance and makes the whole thing eat dry. With a properly sized bun this could be a great burger, but as it stands it feels overrated. On the positive side, the onion and tomato starter was simple but very well done and paired nicely with the sauce. It was balanced, clean, and probably one of the better parts of the meal. Dessert was also very good rich, satisfying, and the most consistent part of the lunch overall. Worth trying, especially at the bar, but a few obvious tweaks particularly to the burger would move this from good to genuinely great.
If you're in Vegas craving for a steak I highly recommend visiting Peter Luger's Steak House at Caesars Palace. From the front just walk straight in on the right until you pass the Cashier's Table and see bar in the center floor. This establishment is family owned and only has 2 other locations one in New York and the other in Tokyo known for their dry aged steak. To get the best value come during their Lunch Hours from 11:30 to 3:30 to get their Power Lunch for $50 but I recommend upgrading to the steak for $80. If you're flying solo you can typically find a seat at the bar pretty quickly but if you have a group I'd make a reservation online prior to going. The burger is good but the dry aged steak should be why you're here. After going here twice I believe the combo to get is Sliced Tomatoes and Onions for your appetizer (add their lugar sauce and eat with your steak), the dry aged steak for your main course, and french fried potatoes for your side. You should also order at least 1 side of bacon for $10 and ask for honey and pepper to add on top. I know you're thinking why not just get the Bacon as the appetizer, but this simple combo with their house sauce eaten with the steak is an indescribale combination of flavors and textures. Other than the perfect steak, the bacon/honey/pepper combo was the most unique and flavorful bite. This $90 meal will be an unforgettable dining experience you should try at least once. Shoutout to Liz who was an awesome bartender-server who went above and beyond in making my dining experience memorable. She's the best!
